They also offer some behind-the-scenes treks and zip lining.Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Mingus Mountains of Camp Verde, Out of Africa Wildlife Park is nestled on over 100 acres of rolling hills and valleys. It is a decent time and fun for everyone however it did seem a little pricey these enclosures and Exhibits are not fancy but they are spacious for the animals.
So are the primary animals that's the main one missing is the elephant. They do have some giraffes and zebras but there are no elephants. Again there is no shade on the Walking paths. They do offer a couple of shows with some of the critters and the Tigers doing some sort of Splash show. They had some beers but they were hibernating when we were there. The habitats look pretty natural and that they have some caves in shade places to hide in but also some things to climb on and move around and hide they had some quite a few tigers and quite a few lions and separate habitat.

They do have quite a few animals that have an acre plus of room to roam around which is very nice to see. And there is no shade out here so I cannot imagine this place in the summer luckily I went in the mild temperatures in mild Sun of March. These are all dirt paths so don't even entertain bringing a stroller if you have a kid. On the Walking part it gets a little different. On this Safari part of that Zoo you get to take a nice tour and some nice Safari vehicles and get to see the animals up close they'll even come up right alongside the Safari vehicle. It cost about $40 for an adult to get in the parking is free. I love Courtney the Safari driver, she was awesome friendly and funny. This is a pretty big park with very friendly Personnel working parent. Here is my review of the Out of Africa Wildlife Park in central Arizona. I'm a zoo fanatic who's been to over 125 zoos and aquariums.
#Wildlife safari az full#
If it had been a full tour I would have felt like I payed too much. I think that would have way been too many people to actually enjoy the experience for the cost. (We were told they allow 18 on the VIP tour). I don't think it would have been worth it, though, during a busy time with the tour vehicle full. The VIP tour was a bit pricy, but worth it to us, since it allowed for interactive, behind the scenes experience. The tour guide took the time to explain the background of many of the animals and most were rescues from bad situations.
The animals seemed very well cared for, the staff were very involved and caring toward the animals and we felt they had enclosures that were appropriate for them. I think if you are in AZ during the hotter months, maybe skip an outside safari tour? Or expect to be very uncomfortable and for the animals to be inside. Most of the negative reviews were due to the reviewer emphasizing how hot is was they day they were there. Temp was mid-upper 70's so it was comfortable, but there was little shade around the park. The property was fine, they had food, drinks, nice bathroom facilities. I am surprised at a few reviews that are negative about the property etc. Up close to the animals, very knowledgable and nice tour guide (Rachel). We did the VIP tour of the park and it was an amazing experience.
